NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – At its November 14, 2022 meeting, the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution declaring certain personal property surplus to the county’s operations, allowing for the sale of these items to non-profit organizations before the remaining items are sold through online public auction. Click here for a complete list of the surplus items up for sale.
From November 16-22, non-profit organizations will have an opportunity to inspect and purchase items No. 385-460 prior to them being available to the general public. Non-profit organizations interested in viewing these items should contact Julia LaBombard at 910-798-4333 or email at jlabombard@nhcgov.com.
Any remaining property from that list will then be offered for sale beginning Thursday, December 1, 2022, using GOVDEALS, a company who provides online auction services to governmental entities.
A second public notice will be sent regarding the opportunity to inspect and purchase items No. 461-486, which are from the current Government Center building, once dates for their sale have been established. Non-profits will have the first opportunity for those items, followed by a public sale.
